Advanced Warehouse Operative (Counterbalance or Reach Truck Licence Required)

Salary: £16.61 per hour (inclusive of shift allowance)
Contract: Temporary to Permanent
Shift Pattern: 4 on, 4 off | 12-hour shifts
We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Operative to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment within the food and drink production industry. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced warehouse professional holding a valid Counterbalance or Reach Truck licence who is looking to secure a long-term position with a leading manufacturer.
The Role
As an Advanced Warehouse Operative, you will play a key role within the Site Supply Function, ensuring the efficient loading, storage, rotation, receipt and dispatch of materials across the factory. You will be responsible for supporting daily operational requirements while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, accuracy and compliance.
Key responsibilities include:
- Loading, unloading, storage and movement of Finished Goods, Raw Materials, Packaging, Waste, Ingredients, Colours, Flavours and Pallet Stocks.
- Managing stock rotation processes, including FIFO (First In, First Out) procedures.
- Conducting inventory checks, cycle counts, stock audits and traceability exercises.
- Managing returns processes and pallet control activities.
- Operating Counterbalance or Reach Truck equipment in line with company standards and safety procedures.
- Supporting warehouse automation systems and reporting any issues that may impact operational performance.
- Maintaining warehouse and raw material storage areas to ensure they remain audit-ready at all times.
- Accurately completing warehouse documentation and monitoring systems.
- Reporting non-conformances and supporting corrective action activities.
- Assisting with internal audits and new product trials.
- Supporting the achievement of key site performance indicators relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement across warehouse processes, systems and equipment.
- Demonstrating flexibility and supporting wider operational teams when required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A valid Counterbalance and/or Reach Truck licence.
- Previous warehouse experience within a food or drink manufacturing/production environment (essential).
- Strong inventory management experience, including stock control, cycle counting and stock reconciliation.
- Experience working with warehouse management systems and stock monitoring processes.
- Good understanding of FIFO, traceability and audit requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of warehouse activities.
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement and problem-solving.
- Experience supporting team performance and maintaining high operational standards.
