Laser Operator 

James Grace Local is currently recruting for an experienced laser operator to join a POS manufacturing business based near Loughborough. The successful candidate will be offered a temp to perm contract and a full training on the new machinery.

This eventually will turn into a weekend shift only (4 days) overall 34.5 hours per week (it could vary) but the pay rate will be slighly higher to earn the same amount as working on a standard 37,5 hour per week shift. Candidate will be required to work Monday to Friday for the first 13 weeks, then will be moved on to a weekend shift from Thursday to Sunday. Please note, flexibility is a must in this role. 

Standard working hours for the first 13 weeks is start 7.30am - 4.30 Monday to Thursday and offering an early finish on a Friday at 12.30pm. After the training the working hours will change to a 6am start, candidates must have own transport due to location of the company. 

Responsibilities

- Operate laser cutting machines to cut and shape materials according to specifications
- Set up and adjust laser parameters, such as power, speed, and focal length
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Perform routine maintenance on laser cutting equipment
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work area

Requirements

- Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring instruments
- Mechanical knowledge and understanding of machine operations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with welding and fabricating metal components
- Familiarity with tooling and sheet metal materials
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team

We offer a competitive contract rate with excellent potential for growth. The rate to be negotiated between £12 - £15 per hour dependent upon experience.
