Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm

The Opportunity
We are recruiting an experienced Health, Safety & Environmental (HS&E) Manager to join a leading manufacturing site in Milton Keynes. This is a fantastic opportunity for a proactive HSE professional with a strong manufacturing background who is passionate about driving a positive safety culture, environmental compliance and continuous improvement.
Working closely with senior leadership and site management teams, you will play a key role in developing, implementing and maintaining robust health, safety and environmental systems while ensuring compliance with UK legislation and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
As HS&E Manager, you will:
- Manage and continually develop the site's Health, Safety & Environmental Management Systems.
- Work collaboratively with the Senior HS&E Manager and other site HSE Managers to deliver group-wide HSE improvement initiatives.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to managers on HSE legislation, compliance and best practice.
- Support production teams with yield and waste reduction initiatives and contribute to the site's sustainability programme.
- Coordinate the Environmental Management System (EMS) and Environmental Permit requirements, including:
- Environmental aspects reviews and control measures.
- Documentation, records and compliance.
- Internal audit schedules and corrective actions.
- Environmental performance reporting.
- BAT (Best Available Techniques) reviews.
- Support departments with:
- Risk assessments.
- HSE audits and inspections.
- Safe operating procedures.
- Incident investigations.
- Take ownership of:
- HSE training programmes.
- Audit schedules.
- Non-conformance management.
- Employee liability claims.
- PPE management.
- Waste stream management.
- Duty of Care compliance.
- Contractor liaison.
- Equipment servicing and problem-solving activities.
- Develop and communicate key HSE performance indicators, including accident statistics and environmental reporting.
- Work closely with HR regarding Occupational Health matters.
- Promote a positive health, safety and environmental culture across both production and office-based teams.
About You
We're looking for an experienced HSE professional who has successfully operated within a fast-paced manufacturing or engineering environment.
You will have:
Essential Qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety (minimum requirement).
- Environmental qualification such as an IEMA Diploma in Environmental Management.
- GCSE (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
Essential Experience
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an HSE Officer, Advisor or Manager position.
- Previous experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment is essential.
- Proven experience of implementing HSE initiatives across both blue-collar and white-collar workforces.
- Experience developing HSE management systems and driving continuous improvement.
- Strong understanding of UK Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.
- Evidence of Continuing Professional Development (CPD).
