Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Fitter to join an engineering company based in Leicestershire . The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting an Installation Engineer in customers workshops, homes or industrial sites.
This is a temp to perm position, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply for a permanent position with the company after completing 13 weeks of continious employment.
Pay: £12.50 - £13.50 per hour depending on experience
Hours: flexibility is required due to the nature if the job
Start times are normally at 6am ish and finish time 6pmish
There might be a requirement of lodging away - food and drinks paid form and additional £10 bonus for each night away
Full UK driving license is required and valid CSCS card
Responsibilities
- Install, align, and assemble mechanical components and machinery according to technical specifications.
- Conduct routine maintenance and inspections to identify potential faults or wear.
- The job may involve some heavy lifting
- Candidate must be familiar using hand tools and powered tools
- Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues.
- Document maintenance activities and report on equipment performance.
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment at all times.
- There might be a requirement to work from the workshop - preparing for instalations
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Fitter or in a similar mechanical role within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Physical fitness to perform manual tasks, including lifting heavy components when necessary.
- A valid UK driving licence
- A valid CSCS card
