Our client requires an experienced Steel estimator to to join their fast paced team and hit the ground running. The ideal candidate for this role will be experienced within the steel estimator industry or have previously worked with large steel construction parts.
Our client is a national powerhouse in the steel fabrication and manufacturing industry and their production team has opened up this exciting opportunity for a steel estimator to push their team forward.
Hours of work:
Monday to Thursday 7.45am -4.45pm, Friday 7.45am – 2.15pm

Steel Estimator role will include but not limited to:
- Analyse the customers' requirements to prepare estimate bids to meet project goals, ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
- Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
- Obtain raw material and sub-contractors’ costs to effectively establish accurate material, equipment and labour costs for the project.
- Estimate fabrication times working with our production teams to ensure methodologies are appropriate and efficiencies maintained.
- Compile estimates and bids based on all data gathered and share this with relevant stakeholders, maintain consistent, up to date and reliable data for all bids.
- Prioritise outstanding enquiries in a way to promote customer satisfaction.
Steel Estimator qualities will include:
- At least 3 years relevant steel estimating experience. Ideally experience of steel bridge or major steel infrastructure construction.
- Excellent time management, multitasking and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to closely collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
- Excellent research, proposal writing and oral presentation skills.
- Good working knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
- Excellent IT and numeracy skills.
- Ability to travel and perform client/site visits when required.
