Estimator - Loughborough

£35,000 to £45,000 per annum

We are currently on the hunt for an estimator to join the ranks of a steel fabrication and structural steel manufacturer based in Loughborough. In this estimator position you will be working closely with the production team and commercial team to estimate products for projects and contracts. Ideally you will have estimator experience previously and would have worked within a fabrication or steel welding environment before. You will be rewarded with a healthy salary, great benefits package and a great company to work for. 

Hours of work:

Monday to Thursday 7.45am -4.45pm, Friday 7.45am – 2.15pm

Benefits include:

  • Salary: £35,000 to £45,000 
  • 25 days holiday + Bank Holidays.

 

Steel Estimator role will include but not limited to:

  • Analyse the customers' requirements to prepare estimate bids to meet project goals, ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
  • Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
  • Obtain raw material and sub-contractors’ costs to effectively establish accurate material, equipment and labour costs for the project.
  • Estimate fabrication times working with our production teams to ensure methodologies are appropriate and efficiencies maintained.
  • Compile estimates and bids based on all data gathered and share this with relevant stakeholders, maintain consistent, up to date and reliable data for all bids.  
  • Prioritise outstanding enquiries in a way to promote customer satisfaction.

 

Steel Estimator qualities will include:

  • At least 3 years relevant steel estimating experience.  Ideally experience of steel bridge or major steel infrastructure construction.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to closely collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent research, proposal writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
  • Excellent IT and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to travel and perform client/site visits when required.
