We are currently searching for an experienced estimator to join a steel fabrication industry leading company. Are you looking for a role that will be working with market leading companies and huge contracts such as HS2? The production team need an experienced candidate to hit the ground running in a fast paced environment. This role will be office based and will be offered a healthy benefits package such as 25 days holiday + bank holidays and an early finish on Fridays! 

Hours of work:

Monday to Thursday 7.45am -4.45pm,

Friday 7.45am – 2.15pm

Estimator role will include but not limited to:

  • Analyse the customers' requirements to prepare estimate bids to meet project goals, ensuring that relevant documents and budgets are submitted before a bid deadline.
  • Obtain raw material and sub-contractors’ costs to effectively establish accurate material, equipment and labour costs for the project.
  • Manage pre-qualification and pre-bid submissions.
  • Compile estimates and bids based on all data gathered and share this with relevant stakeholders, maintain consistent, up to date and reliable data for all bids.  
  • Prioritise outstanding enquiries in a way to promote customer satisfaction.
  • Estimate fabrication times working with our production teams to ensure methodologies are appropriate and efficiencies maintained.

 

We are desperate to speak to people who have either worked in civil engineering, steel infrastructure, rail industry or steel fabrication before as this knowledge can be directly applied to this role. 

 

Estimator qualities will include:

  • At least 3 years relevant steel estimating experience.  Ideally experience of steel bridge or major steel infrastructure construction.
  • Excellent time management, multitasking and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to closely collaborate with clients and stakeholders.
  • Excellent research, proposal writing and oral presentation skills.
  • Good working knowledge of industry best practices and standards.
  • Excellent IT and numeracy skills.
  • Ability to travel and perform client/site visits when required.
